About Safe Tennessee Drivers
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Safe Tennessee Drivers is operated by TechForce Consultants, which has provided driver improvement courses approved by the State of Tennessee for more than 22 years. Our four-hour course, Managing to Drive Safely, is available online in English and Spanish, self-paced, with the certificate issued immediately and no extra fee.
You got a traffic ticket in Tennessee
And you want to take care of it without points on your record.
Someone told you traffic school would handle it. You don't want to spend hours fighting with technology or being lectured at. You just want to finish your four-hour class, get your certificate, and know the court requirement is met and your license is fine.
You're in the right place.
Who we are
Safe Tennessee Drivers is the online school run by TechForce Consultants, a Tennessee company that has taught state-approved driver improvement classes for more than 22 years.
We built Managing to Drive Safely so you can log in, watch short instructional videos and interactive content for as long as you have time, and pause whenever you need to. When you come back, you start exactly where you left off.
Easy to get through — and built so that if you take away even one or two things, we're all a little safer on the roads we share.
Who wrote the course
The original curriculum for Managing to Drive Safely was written by Buddy Tidwell, who spent more than 25 years in law enforcement throughout Middle Tennessee and served as both a AAA Driver Improvement Instructor and a certified National Safety Council Driver Instructor. He is now retired.
That matters more than it might sound. Most online traffic school content is licensed from a national vendor and dropped into a template. Ours was written by someone who worked Middle Tennessee roads for 25 years, responded to the crashes, and then spent years teaching drivers in classrooms before any of it went online.
How to verify we're approved
Don't take our word for it. Check the state's own list.
The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security maintains the list of approved court-ordered traffic school providers at tn.gov.

We're also approved statewide for the Driver Services point-reduction classes — in every county, regardless of where you got your ticket.
How the traffic school process actually works
Usually a judge, or a court clerk on the judge's behalf, tells you that you're eligible for traffic school.
Some courts only accept certain schools, because they've seen providers mishandle the responsibility. Check with the court clerk — the number is usually on your ticket — about which school you can attend. If they say "any certified and approved school," you're in good hands with us.
In that case, you give your completion certificate to the local court handling your ticket.
Sometimes the state contacts you instead. After you pay a ticket, you may get a letter from the Tennessee Driver Services Division saying you're eligible for a class to avoid points on your record. The letter includes a list of approved providers, or a link to one. We're approved for those classes in every county in the state.
In Tennessee, delivering the certificate is your responsibility. If it's a court, they decide whether you bring it in or send it electronically. If it's the state, the letter tells you exactly how they want to receive it. Follow those instructions precisely — that's how you get credit.
We never charge a certificate fee
Some schools advertise a low price, then charge an additional "certificate fee" when you finish. Don't pay it and they won't release your certificate.
We don't do that. You pay one price for the course. When you finish, you get an email with a link to download your certificate. It's yours — you earned it.
